About the artwork

Everything smells different during this time of the year. Earthy, rich and a little bit strange. The annual plants have died and skies turned grey. And yet there is still so much beauty in this transitional time of the year.

I started working on this piece during the summer, but when the weeks passed, slowly the colors started to change towards the approaching winter.

After the paint has fully dried, the painting has darkened a little. Like the winter has almost fully settled in.
