Spring holds such an amazing energy. Even in the middle of the roughest days and stressful events, brightness sieves through it all. Spring feels like persistence, a will to move forward and to push through obstacles.
For me the early spring has always been a bit exhausting and I often suffer from springtime lethargy. But as soon as the landscape begins to turn green and the sounds of migratory birds return to the riverside, something starts to shift.
When the sun finally found its way back into the studio in April, it created new landscapes and reflections on the artworks scattered around.
The whole space started to look different, inviting, cozy and safe. That’s where the inspiration usually lies, in the small moments in everyday life.

Lempi – A little reminder of hope
The first strokes on this canvas were painted during the winter, but nothing really felt right. I abandoned the unfinished piece for quite some time.
Sometimes I would just sit quietly with it, turning it around, looking at it from different angles, wondering what it was trying to become.
I wasn’t too worried. Some pieces simply need time to find their form. That’s the quiet beauty of slow creation: allowing an artwork to unfold at its own pace.
This one finally came together over Easter, in the middle of unlucky events, exhaustion, and worry. (Don’t even ask… my dog had the worst kind of luck for two weeks straight.) And yet, despite it all, this piece surprised me.
Somehow, it found its shape. Somehow, it held a quiet strength I hadn’t expected.
A fierce yearning for life, for light.
Lempi is a reminder that we often surprise ourselves in the hardest moments. You are stronger than you think. Even when everything feels like it’s falling apart, there is something in you that endures. Something that gently keeps reaching toward the light.
Be kind to yourself. That light doesn’t need to be loud. It just needs to be yours.
