About the artwork
Early spring is dull and colorless. Snow and ice have patiently worn down all the dry grass and the remnants of last summer’s growth. There’s anticipation in the air, but the changes are so subtle you barely notice them at first.
Until the first rays of sun turn the dry grass into golden locks of Mother Earth. The surface of the river begins to glow, vibrant and blue. Springtime lethargy might still take a toll on you, but little by little, you start to crawl out of the cocoon of winter heaviness.
And perhaps, just like the river, we too begin to move again. Slowly, quietly, but with purpose.
